Primal Halcyon
An inquisition into the ancient modern. Every one of us has a set of primitive experiences & images upon which our later conceptions are based. Before we became burdened by expectation, fear, and scarcity – leading to that devastating sin: inhibition - we lived from a source of wholeness and strove for the ideal. This compulsion is timeless, and it informs the finest of us in our finest moments. It reeks of optimism; genuine belief in our limitless capacity. It is the way we all thought as children. Many of us let other, outside influences dominate our choices, pretending this subordination to be respectable under clever excuses.
But occasionally we encounter - sometimes for just a split second – places, people, experiences, even perceptions - that yank us back to that state of true presence, of absolute perfection. Not perfection in the sense of utopia, but perfection as understanding that the world, most especially our selves, is just fine in all the ways it is AND in all the ways it is not. We are not characterized by what we lack or how we compare to other people, rather by what & who we are, instantaneously, for everyone and everything around us.
True perfection is not just available to you, it is & has been available to everyone, and always has, because it always has been. Let me separate you from the distractions - they are not just prevalent, they are adept at convincing you that they are useful rather than diverting - and show you the achievements of our will, and may you realize that will is your own.
